Irachi Choru / Chicken Rice......!!!

Yet another traditional recipe.... This is similar to biriyani but tastes entirely different. We dont add much of masalas in to this as of biriyani.... This is very light but can fill your mind n tummy :) :)
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 20 mins
Serves : 3

Ingredients : 
Basmati Rice
2 cups
Chicken
¾ kg
Onions
4
Ginger
1 pc (crushed)
Garlic
5clove(crushed)
Green Chilly
5 (crushed)
Tomato
1
Turmeric Powder
½ tsp
Coriander Powder
1 tsp
Red Chilly Powder
1 tsp
Cardamom
8
Cloves
8
Cinnamon
2 sticks
Bay leaf
1
Water
3 cups
Lime
1 tsp
Salt

Oil

Ghee

Method:
1. Wash and drain the rice and keep aside. 
2. Heat ghee in a bottom thick vessel and sputter 4 cardamoms, 4 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick and bay leaf.
3. Now add half of an onion sliced and salt in to this and saute.
4. Add the rice into this and fry well. The color shouldnt change.
5. Now add 3 cups of water and cover and cook until done.
6. In another pan heat oil and sputter rest of cardamom, cloves and cinnamon stick.
7. Add the onions sliced into this and saute until golden brown. 
8. Now add the crushed ginger, garlic and green chilies into this and saute until the raw smell goes off.
9. Then add turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilly powder and mix well.
10. Once this is done, add the sliced tomatoes and saute until soft.
11. Add one tsp of lime into this.
12. Now add the cleaned chicken pieces into this and combine well. Close and cook until the chicken is completely done and the whole water has drained.
13. Now add the masala in to the cooked rice and mix slowly and carefully without smashing the rice.
14. Serve hot with raita and pappad :) :)
