Jeera Rice is similar to ghee rice the only difference is that we add jeera to this.... Those who wants to try ghee rice, just remove jeera from ingredients, rest all are the same.... I usually use Khaimah Rice for making ghee rice,jeera rice and biriyani... I like its smell and taste... You can make this with basmati rice as well... If using basmati its always better to soak the rice for half n hour prior to preparation...

1. Wash and drain the rice.
2. Heat ghee in a vessel. Splutter fennel seeds, cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, cinnamon, nutmeg.
3. Add onion and salt and saute well.
4. Add the rice and saute well.
5. Add 2 cups of water and close and cook until the rice is done.
6. Serve hot... :)
Tips & Tricks:
- If using basmati rice soak it for at least half n hour before cooking.
- For basmati rice the amount of water is 1½ cup for 1 cup rice.
